I am ahard working single parent trying to pay for my son's books and uniform for high school.  I would like to know of any resources that may help me with books or purchase his uniform., if possible.  If I could get half the cost of his books $300 and $100 for his uniform that would help a great deal.

I have been married, had a son, got divorced, finished college and worked. But I have become rich financially but rich spiritually but allowing GOD to use me and letting go. I understand you need money and I really am in the same position but there are organizations that will help provide food and some orgnaization provide assistance for transportation. Salvation Army maybe one resource and Catholic Charities. Also, research the United Way, they have stated a 211 number that will help you link to resources. I am not sure if the number has started yet but it worth the research. I will try to remember your needs and try to research some info for you. Thank you for the information although I am in California I do experience the additiional cost of school supplies. I have been struggling with just buying books and uniform for my son. So, I know school can be expensive and stressful. But again thank you for the information.

Did you find a low income apartment yet? If not, I will try to help you locate one. But, in the interim look for a Family Resource Center in your city. They are centers to help families become sustainable and self sufficient. May God bless you

I am a hard working single parent who needs assistance in buying school books for my son and his uniform. I was unemployed for 1 1/2 years and it put me behind in my bills. I have just tried to catch up with things that are due but it is a struggle. My son's books are expense and on varsitybooks.com, his uniform I have to purchase at Dennis Uniform store in Oakland California. His books cost $600 and his uniforms will be $200. It's interesting I work everyday providing case management, providing resources and helping people. Now I am in need but It's very hard to find help.
